Wegovy® information
Everyone’s journey with Wegovy is unique. You’ll begin with a low starting dose (0.25 mg once a week) to help your body adjust comfortably. From there, your dose may increase gradually over time - but there’s no single “right” pace or target.
Our clinical team will check in with you regularly to see how you’re responding and feeling. Some people find they’re reaching their goals and tolerating treatment well at a lower dose, while others may benefit from stepping up. What matters most is finding the dose that works best for you — balancing comfort, results, and your personal health goals.
We’ll also review your progress to make sure Wegovy is delivering meaningful results for you before continuing treatment.
- A sharps bin
- An instruction leaflet
- Extra tips that can help you to lose weight
You’ll begin on a low starting dose, taken once a week. From there, you can move up gradually or stay where you feel comfortable, and your clinician will review your choice and confirm it’s safe and sustainable for you.
Over time, some people choose to reduce their dose to maintain results or manage side effects.
- Wegovy should be stored under 30°C or, preferably, in a fridge (2-8°C).
- Don’t freeze your pen, or use it if it has been frozen.
- Keep the cap on when the pen isn’t in use to protect it from light.

“Fantastic from start to finish”
Using Wegovy for about 4 weeks now and not only the product itself is fantastic, but the service from MedExpress is fantastic from consultation, ordering, delivery, re-ordering reminders. Also great to see the links between MedExpress and my own GP here in Northern Ireland. Would highly recommend MedExpress.
“Lost over 5kg”
Great pharmacy quick delivery. Have been using the weight loss injections for about 3 months and have lost over 5kg with hardly any exercise as I’m disabled so can’t really exercise. Only side effect I’m feeling is constipation. Great great product.
“Great, really pleased”
My medication comes quickly, if I have any query questions, I can just email them and then they get back to me. I’m pleased to say that the Wegovy injections that I have are now starting to work, so I’m really happy 😁
“Injection is easy to use”
I have tried all diets this one actually works by making you feel full. I would recommend it to anyone to shed some pounds.

Wegovy® FAQs
Always carry your Wegovy® pen in your hand luggage. Never place it in your checked baggage, as the aircraft hold can expose it to freezing temperatures that could damage the medication. Use a travel cooler to help keep your Wegovy® pen cold, especially if you’re travelling for extended periods in warm climates.
Unopened Wegovy® pens should be stored in a refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C. If that’s not possible, the pen can be kept at room temperature (up to 30°C) for up to 28 days. It’s important not to use any pen that has been exposed to temperatures outside this range.
To pass through airport security smoothly, make sure you carry your prescription with your name on it, along with the original box your medication came in. Carry your passport as your primary ID, and consider having extra proof of address (such as a utility bill) on hand in case further verification is requested.
Airline policies on travelling with medication can vary, so it’s best to contact your specific airline ahead of time to check what’s required for carrying medication on board.
